Gather your list of low competition keywords. Build 5 links for each keyword targeting the corresponding pages on your website. Build your first round of links and keep an eye of on your analytics for which keywords are sending you traffic. You will also need to check positions for the keywords that are send you traffic.
Once you start getting traffic you will want to adjust your link building plan to push the keywords that are sending you traffic up to position number one. This will give you a ton of new website visitors and these keywords will be much easier to push up to the top positions since you are already ranking and getting traffic for these keywords.
Let’s say you are at position number 25 for “blue area rugs” and getting 3 visitors per day. Most searchers don’t go past page one. So imagine how much more traffic you will get by moving from 25 to position 10 and then to position one.
Keep adjusting your link building plan to push keywords that are sending you traffic to position number one. Once you have those keywords ranking start over and get more low competition keywords.
As you keep linking with your easy long tail keywords they will be moving you up for tougher shorter keywords. When you start getting traffic from them then you will have good authority and possibly dominate your niche with groups of related short and long keywords.
